As described below, Never There just had that presence that was hard not to notice. Pat, one of our adopters and volunteers, was out helping at the barn and fell in love. This sweet boy is now at Sunrise Ranch along with Bold Paynter, another Second Call grad who was adopted by Pat in 2024. Pat used to be a chestnut person, but now it’s just all Bay, all day!!!
Here is a guy that once you meet him you won’t be able to forget how you felt in his presence. Never There has been with us for a little while rehabbing from procedures on his hind foot to remove a growth. So many people have gotten the chance to meet him during his time here. All have absolutely fallen in love and have been rooting for him to recover. While we have the pleasure to rehab and retrain many wonderful horses, Never There has definitely made a special imprint, best described as angelic. Standing 16’1 and 1300 lbs of pure kindness, he is the type you can let roam in the yard, loop a lead around his neck and he will happily follow you back into the barn where he can contently stay in on his own or offer a calm roommate for anybody that’s on layup. The expression when he pokes his head out as you enter the barn is simply irresistible and could not be more inviting to adults and kids alike ready to offer a pet. His gentle laid back nature even has the vet joking about his age and breed. It is with great joy that we say he is fully rehabbed, ready to go in any direction so long it is with a truly exceptional home. There will certainly be a few tears when he gets adopted!
